• Mild Soap & Water Mixture or Alcohol - to clean the surface.
• Lint Free Paper Towel or Cloth – to dry the surface.
• Low-Tack 2” Masking Tape – to tack in place or create a hinge.
• Squeegee or Credit Card – for applying vinyl
• Air Release Tool – to remove any trapped air bubbles that may form.
• Hobby Knife (OFLA or XACTO knife) – for trimming away excess vinyl.
• Heat Gun – for heating vinyl on complicated installations.

Plastics and Glass

Thoroughly wipe surface clean with a window cleaner. Remove any dried matter such as tape or glue with a single edge razor blade. If you are planning to use acrylic, remove the protective liner from the acrylic 24 hours prior to application vinyl graphic. This will allow any air bubbles (out-gassing) to dissipate from the acrylic. If this is not observed you may find air bubbles form under your graphic within a couple of days.

Painted Metals and Base Metals

These surfaces may be cleaned with a solvent such as Naphtha, Xylol or Lacquer Thinner. Dry the surface with a lint free cloth before the solvent evaporates. The most effective method of completing the cleaning process is the two hand, two cloth method: Using two cloths (one dry, one with Solvent) one in each hand, wipe the solvent on with the wet towel and then quickly wipe off with the dry one. This is to keep the solvent from drying onto the surface. CAUTION: Before Using any Solvent on a Painted surface, be sure to test in an inconspicuous area to ensure the solvent won’t damage the paint. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics.

Interior Painted Surfaces

Surfaces may be cleaned with any household cleaner such as Fantastic or 409. Wipe area clean and dry with a lint free cloth before applying the vinyl graphics. Freshly painted surfaces should be dry for at least 72 hours prior to application of the vinyl graphics.

If you must do your install outside, grab a friend and choose a non-windy day that is between 60°F and 90°F, with a surface temperature over 45°F (use water to cool surface) to insure the adhesive bond forms correctly.

•  All sheet & roll material comes with a matte lamination to reduce glare. Most products have air-release technology to help in the reduction of bubbles during installation since all small bubbles will dissipate thru the vinyl in a few days.
• All adhesive is Pressure Sensitive meaning that until you apply the firm pressure from the squeegee or credit card you can left and reset the vinyl to get your perfect fit. All vinyl is Moisture & Fade Resistant to help protect your products.

There are 2 basic ways to install your Camowraps® Vinyl; the first is the “Peel & Stick” Method and the second is the “Hinged” Method. Depending on the Size of material you are working with, the method you use will change. Follow the steps below for both methods. If you need additional information visit Camowraps.com for more.

“Peel & Stick” Method (recommended only when working with small areas)

Complete by cutting your material to the required size and then simply peeling the entire backing off the vinyl and sticking the vinyl piece down and start squeegeeing. This technique is not recommended for everyone.

“Hinged” Method (recommended for larger or continuous pieces that overlap) See Diagrams for more info...

1. Using small tabs of masking tape, tack the graphic to the intended surface. This is to insure proper placement before the liner is removed.
2. Apply a single horizontal strip of 2" masking tape to the top or side of the graphic. The strip of should be split between the graphic and the intended surface with 1" on each side. This strip will be used as a hinge that will insure the graphic does not move during the application process.
3. Hold the bottom/far edge of the hinged graphic away from the intended surface and remove the liner to reveal the sticky backing of the vinyl. Save this piece of liner for use later in the application process. If the vinyl graphic is not positioned correctly, now is when you want to lift and replace before squeegeeing into place.
4. While still holding the hinged graphic away from the intended surface; using the squeegee and starting from the center of the hinge, begin to apply the graphic to the intended surface using lite pressure to start working from the center outwards.
5. Once you have applied all available vinyl, gently pull on the release liner with two hands to expose the adhesive backing.
6. Continue to apply the graphic from the center outwards and slowly removing the release liner until the entire vinyl graphic is applied to the surface. NOTE: Curved edges may require a “Relief Cut” or heat to help conform the vinyl to the curves. When using heat Always start with lite heat as to not tear the vinyl graphic; Once the vinyl becomes pliable pull around the curve and squeegee into place. If a “Relief Cut” is used make sure to overlap the vinyl by at least a half inch. Trim Excess with sharp knife or razor blade only after the vinyl has cooled.
7. Once you are completely satisfied with your installation trim the edges of the graphic vinyl with a sharp knife or razor blade, tuck in the edges and Re-squeegee the entire graphic vinyl using the piece of left over liner. Lay the piece of left over liner over the graphic, with shiny side of liner facing you. Proceed to apply hard pressure to squeegee out any remaining air bubbles. If a large bubble forms that you cannot push out, take a pin and poke the bubble. Re-squeegee the area until all remaining air is released.

• This product can be easily removed by starting at any corner and pealing the Vinyl Graphic away from the surface on a 120 degree downward angle.
• If the product is stuck very well, you may use a plastic scraper to get between the Vinyl Graphic and the Surface to assist in the removal process. It also helps to Heat Up the Vinyl Graphic with Heat Gun or Hair Dryer before removing.
• Once the entire product is removed, use a Citrus Based Solvent to remove any excess adhesive from the surface.
