AK-47 Installation Guide

Warning: Ensure your gun is unloaded before starting this process.

Step 1: Cleaning

Before applying the wrap to your AK-47, it's essential to thoroughly inspect, prep, and clean the surface of your firearm. Ensure the gun is unloaded before beginning the process. Oil, grease, and other contaminants must be completely removed for proper adhesion. We recommend using a degreaser specifically formulated for firearms to eliminate any oil or grease.

After using the degreaser, apply isopropyl alcohol to remove any remaining residue. A soft brush can help scrub into the crevices of your AK-47 for a thorough clean. Avoid touching the gun with bare hands after cleaning, as this can transfer natural oils or grease. Be sure to wash your hands with dish soap before starting the application.

Step 2: Preparing the Universal Pieces

Examine the universal pieces included in your kit. The pieces highlighted in red feature relief cuts. Be careful when removing them from the backing, as they can tear easily.

Step 3: Applying Primer (Optional)

Apply primer to areas that may lift over time, especially on wood parts. This can improve the longevity of your wrap. If the wood finish is still in new condition, primer may not be necessary.

Step 4: Applying the Wrap Under the Selector Switch

Place a cut strip under the selector switch. You may need to slide the switch a few times to determine the correct placement. This strip should be removed later to allow for proper functionality without damaging the wrap. Once in position, apply the wrap over the strip.

Step 5: Applying the Wrap Pieces

Apply all pieces as shown. Keep in mind that our kits are universal, so some trimming may be needed for a custom fit. Line up the pieces carefully, then apply firm pressure using your fingers or gloves to ensure a secure bond.

Step 6: Attaching the Top Pieces

Line up the top pieces one at a time, using the small "V" notches to find the center of the gun. Apply firm pressure with your fingers or gloves to secure each piece in place. Once done, trim any excess material.

Step 7: Trimming Around the Selector Switch

Carefully cut both sides of the wrap under the selector switch along the cut strip. Be precise to ensure the wrap doesn't tear during the trimming process.

Step 8: Magazine Wrap Installation

Align the mag wrap with the center of the front of the magazine, using the "V" cuts as a guide. Apply the wrap to one side, using heat and slight bending to follow the mag's shape. Relief cuts on the wrap will assist with the shaping process. Once the first side is applied and trimmed, repeat the process for the other side.
